4. Blood glucose: Diabetes, a disease in which blood glucose levels are above normal, can contribute to serious health complications. Uncontrolled diabetes increases one’s risk for cardiovascular disease. The blood glucose test involves a blood sample via finger stick and is a screening (not a diagnostic test) for diabetes. For the blood glucose test, participants need to fast (no food or drink other than water) prior to this screening.
Health screenings are conducted by a Certified Health
Education Specialist or Registered Dietitian. Health Screening Events also
include results provided to the individual, education on exercise/nutrition
recommendations as needed, and a confidential composite summary of screening
results for the business. |
