Health Screenings

3. Cholesterol-Lipoprotein Profile:

This a more comprehensive screening tool which measures total cholesterol along with LDL cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, triglycerides, and blood glucose. LDL cholesterol is the so-called “bad cholesterol” which can deposit on the artery walls and increase the risk for heart disease and stroke. HDL cholesterol is the “good cholesterol” in that high levels tend to be protective against heart disease and stroke. Triglycerides are a kind of fat that increase the risk for heart disease and stroke when levels are high. Participants will need to fast (no food or drink other than water) prior to this screening.

Health screenings are conducted by a Certified Health Education Specialist or Registered Dietitian. Health Screening Events also include results provided to the individual, education on exercise/nutrition recommendations as needed, and a confidential composite summary of screening results for the business.
