Health Screenings

2. Cholesterol:

Cholesterol is a fat-like substance found in the bloodstream, with elevated cholesterol levels increasing one’s risk for cardiovascular disease. A health educator will take a small blood sample via finger stick and give you a total blood cholesterol reading. There is no need to fast prior to this test. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have had a recent heart attack or surgery, are currently losing significant weight, or are dehydrated, your cholesterol measurement may not be accurate.

Health screenings are conducted by a Certified Health Education Specialist or Registered Dietitian. Health Screening Events also include results provided to the individual, education on exercise/nutrition recommendations as needed, and a confidential composite summary of screening results for the business.
